River Valley School Mourn Passing of Beloved Teacher Ms. Crissy Curzon Who Passed Away
River Valley School shares with profound sadness the passing of our beloved teacher and friend, Ms. Crissy Curzon. Crissy brought music, joy, and creativity into our school in a way that felt entirely her own. Her classroom and our hallways were alive with song, laughter, and a beautiful sense of playfulness that made even the simplest moments feel meaningful. There was a warmth to her presence that you could feel the moment you walked into a room she was in

As a gifted musician and artist, Crissy didn’t just teach music. She helped her students experience it. She gave them the confidence to stand tall, to share their voices, and to discover the joy of expressing themselves. There was a lightness in the way she taught, a gentle humour, and a deep, unwavering care that made every student feel seen, safe, and valued.
Crissy had a rare way of connecting with people, authentically, thoughtfully, and with genuine kindness. She brought creativity to everything she did, and she gave so much of herself to this community. Her impact is woven into the hearts of our students, our staff, and our families in ways that will not fade.
This loss is felt so deeply by all of us. We are holding Crissy’s family and loved ones especially close, surrounding them with love, care, and compassion during this incredibly difficult time. In the days ahead, we will continue to lean on one another and care for our students, for whom Crissy was such a meaningful and constant presence.
